Why Should I Register?

Protected applications are only available for Synopsys customers, who have a support maintenance agreement with Synopsys, are members of our University and partner programs, or who have an ELicensing contract with Synopsys. To access protected applications, registered users must enter a combination of username and password.

Note: It is Synopsys' policy not to disclose or sell any of your registration information to any outside organization. For more information, please see the Synopsys Privacy Policy.


I'm a new user, what do I need to do?

If you are not yet registered, take a few minutes to fill out a New User Registration form. You must use your corporate email address and Synopsys Site ID number. You will need to select a username and password, enter your email address, first and last name, and site ID. After submitting your registration, an email will be sent to the corporate email address you provided, which will require you to enter your new username and password to complete the registration process. If at any time you need help, please refer to the Questions or Comments section.

How should I select a username?

Select a username you can easily remember. Your username has to be unique. The registration system will tell you if someone else has already registered with that username. If so, you'll need to select something else. If at any time you cannot remember your username, click the Forgot Username/Password link and your username will be emailed to your registered email address.

What are the password requirements?

Your password must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 8 characters long
  • Must include at least 1 number
  • Must include at least 1 symbol character $ & ! %
  • Must include at least 1 lowercase letter
  • Must include at least 1 uppercase letter
  • Must not include your username, first name, last name
  • These requirements must be met within the first 8 characters

If at any time you cannot remember your password, click the Forgot Username/Password link, and a temporary password will be emailed to your registered email address.

What emails should I expect to see?

After you successfully complete New User Registration, there are two emails that will be sent to your registered email address.

  • Synopsys Sign In Confirm Email Address
    This message asks you to verify that you received the email at your registered email address. You will need to enter the Username and Password you selected during registration.
  • Welcome to Synopsys Sign In
    Shortly after completing the steps required in the confirmation email, you will receive a message informing you that your registration has been approved and you now have full access to all protected Synopsys Web applications.

If there is a question about your registration, you will receive an email with the subject "Synopsys Synopsys Sign In Registration." It will explain the issue and will let you know how to proceed.

How long should registration take?

You should receive the Confirm Email Address email immediately after submitting your registration. Once you confirm using the URL in the email, Synopsys does additional checks to confirm your access privileges at your site. It will take no longer than 2 business days (and usually much less) to complete your registration.


RETURNING USER
My username/password doesn't work, what do I do?

If your username is your full email address, you will need to fill out a New User Registration form before you can access protected Synopsys Web applications. If you have already registered in the new system and selected your username, you can use the Forgot Password/Username form to request a temporary password.


UPDATING MY PERSONAL INFORMATION
I forgot my password, how do I get a new one?

If you forget your password, you must use the Forgot Password/Username form. A new temporary password will be sent to your registered email address. You should immediately sign in to Synopsys Sign In and change it to one which meets the secure password requirements.

I forgot my username, how can I find it?

If you forget your username, you must use the Forgot Password/Username form. You must enter your registered email address and an email will be sent with your username(s).

What if I forgot both my password and username?

If you forget both your Password and Username, you must first use the Forgot Password/Username form to recover your Username(s). After you receive your Username(s), you must use the Forgot Password/Username form to request a new temporary password.

How do I change my password?

You may change your password by clicking the Change Password link. Enter your current password in the Old Password field. Fill your new password in the Enter New Password and Re-Enter New Password fields, then select Next at the bottom of the form to submit your change. Your new password must meet the Synopsys Sign In password requirements.


USE OF COOKIES
Why do I have to have cookies turned on?

Synopsys Sign In uses Session cookies to maintain your information within your profile. Session cookies are only used while you're logged in to Synopsys Sign In. Once you logout or close your browser, the cookie is removed from your system.

How can I enable my browser to accept cookies?

FireFox:
1. From browser menu
2. Tools > Options > Privacy
3. Check "Accept cookies from sites"
4. Click OK
5. Close all browsers
6. Open a new browser



Internet Explorer:
1. From browser menu
2. Tools > Internet Options > Privacy Tab
3. Set privacy setting to Medium (permits first party cookies)
4. Click OK
5. Close all browsers
6. Open a new browser
